Saturday 16th April 2022 This Polish tradition filled the Church again, with families each holding a basket of Easter Food. The tradition is to bring the food that will be consumed on Easter Sunday to Church, the day before, for a blessing. The baskets now tend to contain items which have a symbolical meaning such as decorated eggs, salt, bread, sausage, ham, horseradish sauce, and some greenery. Each has it's own meaning such as the small lamb made of sugar represents the Lamb of God. Click Here to see the blessings for each group of food.
